Technical Operation Training Specialist:

LOCATION: Washington, DC / Remote

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Operation Training Specialist for the FAA – PSS Contract, supporting the Civilian Division.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance (US Citizenship required for all applicants)
  • A Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) with 10 years of related experience is required.
  • 10 or more years of experience directly related to EnRoute Air Traffic Automation Systems maintenance and Monitor and Control or Systems Engineering. 
  • Experience supporting FAA programs through technical analysis, contract oversight, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Familiarity with FAA En Route Air Traffic Automation Systems and Technical Operations environments.
  • Knowledge of system monitoring, operational support concepts, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise meeting and technical documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage meetings, artifacts, and action items in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail, customer focus, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, CORE, System Architect) a plus.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

 

  • Experience with training development related to the technical or operational environment.
  • Familiar with the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). Experience reviewing or evaluating contractor-developed training products for technical accuracy, completeness, and contractual compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience preparing briefings for FAA leadership.

RESPONSIBILITITES:

  • Oversee vendor-developed training deliverables, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and operational requirements.
  • Prepare and manage meeting artifacts including agendas, briefings, action item trackers, and meeting summaries.
  • Facilitate and support meetings with FAA stakeholders and contractors, coordinate logistics, invitations, and documentation.
  • Serve as a coordination point for contractual communications related to training activities.
  • Provide technical analysis of En Route Air Traffic Automation Systems to support training oversight and program decision-making.
  • Provide FAA Technical Operations subject-matter support for Security Operations Center (SOC) Monitoring & Control (M&C) and Cybersecurity Assessment and Implementation (CAI) activities.
  • Experience preparing and managing meeting artifacts, briefings, and documentation for FAA stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with FAA personnel and contractor teams.
  • High attention to detail and sound professional judgment in a safety-critical operational environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and briefing preparation.
  • Ability to work effectively across FAA program offices, operational facilities, and contractor organizations.
