Pulmonary Technologist, Job Summary

We are seeking a Pulmonary Technologist for our NCR Pulmonology practice in Washington, D.C. Under physician direction, this role independently performs and documents a range of pulmonary function and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures in inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. Tests include spirometry, flow volume loops, gas dilutional lung volumes, diffusion capacity, six-minute walk tests, pulse oximetry, and EKGs.

The technologist ensures accuracy, patient safety, and adherence to ATS standards and institutional protocols. Responsibilities include equipment calibration and cleaning per infection control policies, maintaining clinical documentation, and contributing to quality assurance activities. This position supports physician decision-making through timely communication of results and assists in training new staff while troubleshooting equipment and workflow issues. Certification in respiratory therapy or pulmonary function technology (NBRC) and current CPR (BLS) are required.

Location: 5215 Loughboro Rd. Washington, D.C. 20016

Status: Non-Exempt - Full-time - 40 hours per week

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist, or Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with pulmonary function therapy experience required.
  • One year (12 months) of experience in a pulmonary function lab, preferably in an academic/research environment.

Salary Range: Minimum 24.54 per hour - Maximum 40.51 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
