The National Association of Letter Carriers, an AFL-CIO affiliated union representing 290,000 active and retired letter carriers, is seeking a Digital Strategy Manager. The position is based in-person in Washington, D.C., and is an exciting opportunity for a leadership role on a growing digital team.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a highly motivated, collaborative, detail-oriented, self-starter who can expand the union’s current digital footprint. The manager must possess a strong background in developing and implementing digital strategy in a fast-paced environment to advance the union's goals, increase member engagement, support organizing and advocacy campaigns, and grow the union's online presence and influence. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to perform and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

The Digital Strategy Manager will collaborate with various organizational staff and have primary responsibility for digital strategy development, planning, timelines, and execution of podcast, video, live-event planning, online campaign management, and oversight and organization of all the union’s digital assets, tracking and utilization of data and analytics for maximum audience engagement.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experienceÂ
- Staff and vendor management experienceÂ
- Proficient knowledge of social media platforms, social media management platforms, emerging trends and tools and best practices
- General commitment to the principles of organized laborÂ
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing comprehensive digital strategies across multiple platforms (web, email, social, video, podcast, and live events).
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and act on digital metrics and audience insights to optimize engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content and messaging for different audiences and platforms.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing staff, vendors, and external partners, including creative agencies, consultants, and digital service providers.
- Proficiency with social media platforms and social media management tools, as well as familiarity with emerging digital trends and best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including asset management and maintaining digital content libraries.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make sound decisions under tight timelines.
- Commitment to the values and principles of the labor movement and worker advocacy.

- Email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Action Network, Salsa, NationBuilder, or similar)
- Member/advocacy tools (Action Network, EveryAction, or similar)
- Basic CRM use (contact lists, segmentation, tagging)
- Content Management & Web
- Content Management System (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar
- Basic familiarity with HTML formatting inside CMS editors
- Document management and collaboration (SharePoint, Google Drive, OneDrive)
- Social Media & Publishing
- Native publishing tools on major platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok)
- Social media management/scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, Later, or similar)
- Design & Multimedia (Working Knowledge)
- Basic use of design tools (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar)
- Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Cloud environment (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign) for working with creative staff and vendors
