As the Health & Fitness Specialist, you will design, implement, and monitor comprehensive health and wellness programs for cleared personnel, ensuring physical readiness and long-term wellness in a high security environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop individualized and group fitness programs based on client goals, capabilities, and medical considerations.
- Conduct fitness assessments, including body composition, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and mobility screenings.
- Lead group exercise classes and provide one-on-one personal training sessions.
- Promote injury prevention, rehabilitation, and recovery strategies.
- Track participation metrics and progress reports, while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and classified protocols.
- Educate personnel on nutrition, stress management, sleep hygiene, and overall wellness.
- Monitor and maintain fitness equipment and facility cleanliness according to safety standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, health sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal training, group fitness instruction, or wellness coaching.
Certification from a nationally recognized organization such as:
- NSCA (CSCS or CPT)
- NASM (CPT or PES)
- ACE (CPT)
- ACSM (EP-C or CPT)
- CPR/AED and First Aid certified (must be current)
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a secure, high pressure environment
- Experience working in secure or classified environments (military, IC, or defense community)
