BankFund Credit Union is a full-service financial cooperative that was organized and chartered in 1947 as a convenient place for employees of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund and their families to save and to obtain credit. Located in Washington, DC, BankFund maintains three full-service branches downtown with our headquarters located near Farragut West metro station. This position is classified as a hybrid role which means that on-site work will be expected. After completion of training for the role, staff generally work on site 40% of the time but this is subject to change based on health and safety standards and operational need.
Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement & Relationship Management
- Proactively conduct outbound and inbound member engagement through phone calls, emails, and secure messaging to support targeted campaigns, promotions, and outreach initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships by delivering hyper-personalized, high-quality service that exceeds member expectations.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for assigned members, coordinating across departments to ensure timely communication, documentation, and resolution of inquiries or concerns.
Sales & Business Development
- Identify      member needs and recommend appropriate deposit, lending, and ancillary products through consultative conversations.
- Open deposit accounts and cross-sell products and services aligned with member goals.
- Schedule and conduct appointments with members applying for consumer loans, mortgages, and home equity products, ensuring the best product fit.
- Independently tracks daily, weekly, and monthly and quarterly sales activity and approaches their sales pipeline with a winning mindset—staying ahead of pace, seizing opportunities, and consistently meets of exceeds monthly goals.
- Champion membership growth by supporting high visibility membership drives and product promotions, ensuring BankFund’s value, credibility, and commitment to its member community are consistently elevated.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current loan programs, rates, and terms, providing accurate payment calculations and amortizations in compliance with the S.A.F.E. Act and Credit Union policies.
Lending & Financial Guidance
- Accept and review consumer loan applications, credit reports, and income documentation to ensure compliance with lending policies, guidelines, and a smooth & consistent member experience.Â
- Proactively welcome and support members throughout the loan process by accepting and inputting applications and conducting thoughtful, service-oriented interviews for consumer loans offered through BankFund.Â
- Counsel members on financing options, clearly explaining benefits, terms, and responsibilities to support informed decision-making.
- Maintain active NMLS registration, including annual recertification and compliance with all applicable requirements.
Community & Sponsor Group Engagement
- Serve as a key liaison with Credit Union sponsor groups and coordinating associations.
- Represent BankFund Credit Union at seminars, new employee orientations, membership drives, and in-person onsite/offsite events.
- Serve as a distinguished ambassador for BankFund, cultivating strong and strategic relationships with the Credit Union’s Sponsor Groups and partnering associations.
Compliance, Risk & Information Security
- Demonstrate ongoing compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), OFAC, and Information Security policies, including annual required training.

For internal purposes, this position is graded as NE - 9.Â
The anticipated annualized base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $87,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s job-related experience, skillset, training, certifications and market demands. The benefits available for this full-time position include but are not limited to: medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and paid time off, including paid parental leave benefits. In addition to base compensation salary, this role position is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
Requirements
  Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s  degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
- Ability to obtain and maintain NMLS registration, including annual recertification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse member audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence decisions, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven sales and service skills with a focus on needs-based solutions.
- Ability to work onsite daily and serve as a brand ambassador during in-person events

Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, credit union, banking, or lending environments.
- Prior experience in member service or lending with a documented record of strong sales and service performance.
- Experience working in a role with individual sales goals, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
- Familiarity with credit union products, services, and member-centric sales models.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.
