Description:

The Board shall regulate the practice of professional engineers and land surveyors.

 

Commission membership: 

The Board shall consist of 7 members of whom 4 shall be professional engineers licensed in the District in various disciplines, 2 shall be land surveyors licensed in the District, and one shall be a public consumer member.

 

Qualifications:  

Professional engineers must be licensed in the District of Columbia and "qualified to practice engineering by reason of special knowledge and use of the mathematical, physical, and engineering sciences and the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design, acquired by engineering education and engineering experience". 

Land surveyors must be duly licensed in the District of Columbia and have professional and life experience as a licensed land surveyor in the District.

 

Time commitment:  

The Commission has monthly meetings; subcommittees meet as required to complete tasks.
