Position Overview
Reporting to the CEO, CEBA’s Chief of Staff provides direct, day-to-day support to the CEO by staffing them, managing the Executive Office, and coordinating CEBA’s executive convenings, e.g., our Executive Leadership Team meetings, our high level member Leadership Circle events, our staff retreats, and other executive convenings. This role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a genuine desire to directly support the CEO’s effectiveness.
The position requires an in-office work arrangement of 4-5 days per week.
Core Responsibilities:
Executive Event Management
- Own CEBA’s Executive Leadership Team meetings – setting agendas in collaboration with CEO and other ELT members, driving the discussion and ensuring alignment on next steps
- Own logistics and execution for CEBA’s Leadership Circle events, organizational retreats, and others, totaling approximately seven major events per year.
- Coordinate scheduling, materials, and communications for these events, with clear ownership to ensure smooth execution across teams.
CEO Staffing
- Serve as a thought partner to the CEO in preparing for events, managing our board and membership, and charting out new initiatives.
- Prepare the CEO for meetings by gathering background information on topics, attendees, and relevant context in advance.
- Staff the CEO in most of their meetings, tracking action items, and following up to ensure timely execution.
- Support the CEO in developing presentations and materials for internal and external engagements, in collaboration with CEBA’s communications team as needed.
- Manage a variety of ad hoc requests and special projects for the CEO as they arise.
CEO Office Management
- Prioritize and manage requests for the CEO’s time and work in close coordination with the CEO’s Executive Assistant.
- Support the organization’s performance management cycle and related administrative processes, in coordination with the Dep. Director, Strategy & Impact.
- Coordinate agendas, materials, and follow-up for regular leadership meetings.
- Occasionally serve as a point of contact for internal office matters in the CEO’s absence.
Team Management
- Serve as a point of contact for organizational matters, helping staff navigate process questions and connect with the right resources.
- Coordinate across CEBA teams to help ensure alignment on organizational activities, priorities, and timelines.
- Help maintain clarity on ownership and accountability across teams for key initiatives and recurring activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required, advanced degree preferred; or equal and equivalent relevant work experience.
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in an executive support, chief of staff, or related role.
- Demonstrated success in project management, organization, and cross-functional coordination.
- Comfortable working closely and directly with senior executives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A professional and personal commitment to CEBA’s vision and core values of respect, integrity, service, and excellence (RISE).
- General familiarity with the energy industry and CEBA’s mission.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communications including experience in creating high quality presentations.
- Ability to solve complex problems and understand the logical relationships among concepts.
- A strong desire to help others balanced with an ability to communicate in a direct and forceful manner when necessary.
- Receptiveness to creative ideas and a willingness to modify approach and generate new ways to solve problems.
- Independently determine efficient and effective work methods.
- Experience using AI tools to improve personal or team productivity, with an interest in identifying opportunities to adopt AI into everyday work processes.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours occasionally and travel up to 25% of the time.
- Experience supervising or developing others is a plus but not required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role will supervise 1-2 Executive Assistant positions

Compensation and Benefits:
The expected base salary for this role is $120,000 - $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications. All CEBA employees are eligible to participate in the annual bonus incentive plan, which is based on both organizational and individual performance, up to 10% for this role.
