Freedom Networks has an exciting opportunity for a Civils Operative to join our Small Works team, supporting our Northern Powergrid contracts across the North East. Working as part of the Cable Engineering Services Contract (CESC), you will play a key role in delivering excavation, reinstatement and associated civils activities safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering critical infrastructure works across the region.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

• Carry out excavation and reinstatement works in support of small works projects.
• Support Project Managers and Supervisors in the safe and efficient delivery of works.
• Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with Freedom and client Health & Safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with client contract coordinators, engineers and operational teams.
• Complete and submit all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Engage professionally with customers, landowners and members of the public when required.
• Ensure all works are delivered to the expected quality standards and specifications.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all site activities.
• Support the ongoing development and adherence to Freedom's procedures and standards.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Experience working within civils, utilities, excavation or reinstatement environments.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety requirements on construction or utility sites.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

• NRSWA (Streetworks) accreditation.
• Experience working on utility or power distribution contracts.
• Plant operator tickets or relevant industry qualifications.
• Experience working on excavation and reinstatement projects within public highways.
