Connsci is seeking a Cloud Engineer to provide enterprise-level support for one of our large federal customers. Specifically this individual will be responsible for ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud operations within a hybrid infrastructure across Microsoft Azure GovCloud and Microsoft 365 GCC High tenants.

In this role you can expect to:
- Administer, secure, and optimize Azure-based infrastructure and M365 services, including AVD, VMs, and storage.
- Troubleshoot hybrid network issues and support tickets, escalating as required.
- Develop scripts and automation (PowerShell, Bash, CI/CD pipelines) to streamline deployment and maintenance.
- Monitor cloud resource consumption and recommend cost-efficiency improvements.
- Implement and manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and SSO authentication in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Produce and maintain system design documentation, governance policies, and knowledge articles.
- Conduct internal technical reviews and recommend improvements to cloud performance, security, and operations.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have Expertise In:
- Windows Server Lifecycle & Role Management: proficiency in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server (2019/2022), with hands-on experience managing core roles including Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy Objects (GPO) to ensure high availability and security.
- Network Service Architecture: understanding of how Windows Server integrates with corporate networking components, including VLANs, Subnetting, and Routing logic, to ensure seamless communication between server workloads and client endpoints.
- Cloud & Hybrid Networking Architecture: understanding of Azure networking components, including VNETs (Virtual Networks), ExpressRoute, and User Defined Routes (UDR), and how to leverage Network Security Groups (NSG) to secure traffic flow between on-premises Windows servers and cloud-hosted workloads.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of cloud engineering experience with Azure and M365
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator.
- At least 1 year of experience with AD, virtualization, cloud administration, and DevOps tools
- Current Top Secret, DOE Q, or Public Trust High Risk Tier 4 clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes).
- 3+ years of experience working with federal IT cloud security standards.
