YouāllĀ help design and deliver a growing portfolio of live and interactive experiences that bring our research to life and create direct connections between Center experts and the communities they inform. In this role, you will work across the Center to pilot different stakeholder models,Ā monitorĀ resultsĀ and operationalize the best approaches. Success in this role means helping ensure the Center's research not only reaches key audiences, but is understood,Ā discussedĀ and applied in circles that strengthen its real-world impact. PrimaryĀ responsibilitiesĀ
CommunicationsĀ strategyĀ andĀ leadershipĀ
Under the guidance ofĀ the communicationsĀ directorĀ andĀ associate director,Ā develop and oversee executionĀ ofĀ communications plansĀ forĀ major researchĀ studiesĀ to build reach,Ā influenceĀ and impact for the Centerās work.Ā IdentifyĀ target audiences, goals and dissemination strategies and tactics for major prioritiesĀ while working within the overall institutional brand strategy.Ā
BuildĀ strong relationships withĀ theĀ managing directorsĀ and staff of theĀ research teams; digital producers and designers on the beat; and other researchers and staff across theĀ Center.Ā
Ā
Develop deeper relationships with priority audiences:Ā
Work with Strategic Communications and Research staff toĀ identifyĀ and prioritize key stakeholder groups (policy professionals, civic leaders, educators, etc.).Ā
Build and manage targeted outreach and invitation strategiesĀ
Track engagement over time (attendance, repeat participation, follow-up actions)Ā
Grow the addressable stakeholder audience for the CenterĀ

Lead stakeholder engagement through live experiences:Ā
Plan and execute virtual, hybrid and/or in-person events, including webinars,Ā briefingsĀ and small-group discussions in consultation with Strategic Communications colleagues.Ā
Partner with research leaders and communications designers in the Center to shape compelling, accessible presentations of findingsĀ
Moderate orĀ facilitateĀ live sessions that encourage participation and dialogueĀ
Help the Center build repeatable formats of engagement (series, office hours, stakeholder briefings)Ā
Ensure follow-up with stakeholders after convenings and internal teams on learningsĀ

Help build a digital events tech stack to manage attendees and host live experiencesĀ
Track engagement metrics beyond reach (e.g., registrations, attendance quality, repeat participation) in partnership with communications analystsĀ
IdentifyĀ what drives meaningful interaction and adjust strategy accordinglyĀ
Help set the pace for what āsuccessā looks like for stakeholder engagement at the CenterĀ
Gather feedback and insights from stakeholders to inform future engagement strategies and help the Center better understand audience needsĀ
IdentifyĀ emerging audience interests and opportunities to connect the Center research with real-world conversations and challengesĀ

Education/training/experience requirementsĀ
Bachelor'sĀ in public relations, communications, mass media,Ā or relatedĀ field.Ā Ā
5-8+ years in communications, events, audience engagement, or related rolesĀ
Experience working in media, research, nonprofits, or mission-driven organizationsĀ
Familiarity with virtual event platforms and engagement toolsĀ
Experience building partnerships or networks andĀ maintainingĀ stakeholder relationshipsĀ
Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate across multiple teams and prioritiesĀ
Experience engaging andĀ facilitatingĀ discussion with professional or policy-oriented audiences is a plusĀ

Compensation:Ā The typical starting salary for this position is $91,035Ā annually.Ā
Ā
Hybrid Work Schedule:Ā Pew Research Center staffĀ are required toĀ be present in the Centerās Washington, D.C., office three core days weekly (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).Ā Staff may workĀ virtually fromĀ remote locations on other days in a typical work week.Ā Ā Ā Ā
