Mainframe Computer Operator
- Location: Washington, DC
- Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Shifts: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Citizenship: No Visa or U.S. Citizenship sponsorship; must be a U.S. Citizen due to the nature of the work.
- Anticipated Start: December 2026
- Compensation: Competitive hourly pay plus applicable employer-provided benefits, based on qualifications, experience, shift assignment, and federal contract experience and requirements.
- Background Investigation: Must pass a background check, drug testing, and a credit check without delay.
Position Summary
JLGOV is seeking experienced Mainframe Computer Operators to support production operations in a federal mainframe data center.
Required Qualifications
- Mainframe or enterprise data-center operations experience.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed laser printers, impact printers, and burster equipment, including routine operator-level maintenance.
- Working knowledge of JCL and TSO/ISPF.
- Experience submitting, monitoring, tracking, and troubleshooting production jobs.
- Production Control or batch-processing experience.
- Ability to follow SOPs, production schedules, and shift procedures.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned onsite shift.
Core Duties
- Operate production printers and bursters.
- Load paper, forms, toner, developer, and supplies.
- Submit and monitor jobs using JCL within TSO/ISPF.
- Monitor queues, equipment, and production output.
- Perform routine troubleshooting and operator-level maintenance.
- Organize and route completed output.
- Support Production Control and shift handoffs.
- Escalate unresolved equipment or system issues.
Preferred
- 3+ years of relevant mainframe/data-center operations experience.
- Federal or high-volume production-printing experience.
- IBM z/OS, JES2, SDSF, Control-M, CA7, or similar tools.
Before Applying

General help desk, desktop support, software development, or cybersecurity experience alone does not meet the requirements.
