Position Description

ThinkTek is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support a Department of Defense client in the National Capital Region. This role will serve as the primary cybersecurity lead for the program, responsible for developing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation package and leading the development of the Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) registration package for National Security Agency (NSA) approval. The ideal candidate combines disciplined RMF documentation expertise with applied technical knowledge of network engineering, CSfC, and mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of RMF documentation required to support an Authority to Operate (ATO), including system security plans, security assessment artifacts, and supporting deliverables
  • Lead the development of the CSfC registration package for submission to the NSA CSfC Program Management Office (CSfC PMO), including capability package compliance checklists, network diagrams, and supporting documentation
  • Engage directly with the CSfC PMO to align on registration requirements and navigate guidance gaps where Capability Packages do not yet address emerging technologies
  • Ensure the system architecture and supporting documentation comply with applicable DoD cybersecurity directives
  • Produce technically accurate artifacts that withstand peer engineering review without significant rework

Required Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance
  • DoD 8140/8570 IAM Level II baseline certification (CISSP, CISM, CASP+, or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of experience developing RMF documentation and supporting ATO processes for DoD systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of network architecture, transport security, encryption, and identity management
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, DoD Instruction 8510.01, and applicable DoD cybersecurity policies
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical documentation
  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct experience developing CSfC registration packages and engaging with the NSA CSfC PMO
  • Familiarity with CSfC Capability Packages, particularly Mobile Access (MA), Campus Wireless LAN (WLAN), and related guidance
  • Experience supporting wireless and mobility programs in DoD environments
  • Master's degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, or related field
  • Active TS/SCI eligibility
