Position Summary
The Data/Integration Engineer designs and supports the data architecture connecting DOT financial, contracting, service-management, planning, and external-provider data required for the WCF solution. The engineer integrates and standardizes data from Delphi, PRISM, ServiceNow, Oracle EPM/IMPACT, spreadsheets, CSV files, and other Government-approved sources into a common analytical structure.
The position supports DOT's transition from Microsoft to Google through a modular, nonproprietary, and transition-ready architecture. The Data/Integration Engineer preserves the authoritative roles of existing systems of record while configuring approved interfaces, extracts, staging, validation, reconciliation, and reporting data flows within the environment authorized by OCDIO.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the common financial and operational data structure supporting the WCF solution.
- Integrate data from Delphi, PRISM, ServiceNow, Oracle EPM/IMPACT, and approved external sources.
- Develop documented source-to-target mappings, crosswalks, data dictionaries, and interface specifications.
- Profile incoming datasets to understand field definitions, formats, identifiers, units, quality, and reporting grain.
- Standardize external Government and commercial provider datasets into a consistent schema.
- Develop controlled intake processes for spreadsheets, CSV files, scheduled reports, database extracts, and other approved formats.
- Design validation rules for required fields, duplicates, invalid values, customer mappings, service mappings, and control totals.
- Reconcile processed datasets to provider control totals and applicable authoritative financial totals.
- Design and maintain exception-handling workflows for invalid, unmatched, incomplete, or changed-format records.
- Support structured staging, transformation, and processing of larger or more complex datasets.
- Develop and maintain metadata, lineage, schema-version, and source-system documentation.
- Support automated and scheduled data movement using DOT-approved technologies and interfaces.
- Work with OCDIO on interface configuration, identity and access, platform dependencies, security requirements, and migration activities.
- Support the Microsoft-to-Google transition by identifying platform dependencies and reconfiguring data interfaces and processing components as required.
- Support development of reporting datasets and analytical views for financial analysts, executives, and Operating Administration customers.
- Perform integration testing, data reconciliation, defect analysis, and UAT support.
- Prepare technical runbooks, interface documentation, data dictionaries, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Provide Level 2 data and integration troubleshooting while coordinating privileged platform issues with OCDIO.
Role Outcome
Provides DOT with a governed, traceable data foundation that connects authoritative financial information with service consumption and external provider data without creating proprietary or platform-dependent integration.
