The Gist…

We are seeking an experienced analytical Data Analyst to design, develop, and maintain complex data models and dynamic dashboards that provide meaningful insights and drive data-driven leadership decisions for our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. In this role, you will develop statistical and predictive data models, specifically for workforce planning and strategy initiatives, that align with agency leadership objectives and goals. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills in data modeling, data analytics, and data visualization with knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI).

 

What Your Day Might Include…

 

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, relationships, and metrics. Clean, process, and validate data for modeling and analysis.
  • Develop, test, and implement predictive and statistical models using linear regression, machine learning, and other relevant techniques.
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand objectives, pain points, and data needs.
  • Define and document functional and technical requirements for dataflows, analytics, and dashboards.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams to ensure alignment between business needs and analytical outputs.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on dashboard utilization and data interpretation.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data processes, reporting frameworks, and analytical methodologies.

 

Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data visualization or a related role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Python and R or other data analytics programming languages.
  • Experience with working large complex data sets and statistical and predictive modeling
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
  • Experience working with workforce data is a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data analytics and dashboarding experience, preferred
