Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking a Data Engineer to conduct design, implement, and operate data management systems for intelligence needs. The successful candidate will design how data will be stored, accessed, used, integrated, and managed by different data regimes and digital systems. An employee in this position will work with data users to determine, create, and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems.

 

This position will be based out of Washington, D.C. or the greater National Capital Region (NCR). This is an opportunity to get in on the “ground level” of a new and exciting program with a critical Department of War (DoW) customer.


What you will do

Plan, design, and optimize data throughput and query performance. Participate in the selection of backend database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.), their configuration and utilization, and the optimization of the full data pipeline infrastructure to support the actual content, volume, ETL, and periodicity of data to support the intended kinds of queries and analysis to match expected responsiveness.


What you need to have

  • Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with a poly (or ability to obtain a Poly)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field

  • Minimum of 3 - 8 years of experience conducting analysis using data engineering (an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for the above education requirements)

  • Demonstrable experience using various data engineering tools and technologies (SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.) and a thorough understanding of the ETL process


What we'd like you to have

  • Current CI poly

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, data engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another related field

  • 8 years of experience conducting analysis using data engineering, with at least a portion of experience within the last 2 years

  • Experience working creating products for Object Based Intelligence purposes

  • Experience within the DoW and/or US Intelligence Community
