Skillforce is currently searching for an Electrician Apprentices for a commercial project in the Washington DC area starting IMMEDIATELY!   The ideal candidate is a DC resident and has a valid apprentice license or is currently enrolled in a n apprentice program. PAY AND SCHEDULE:

PAY: $24-28 per hour, depending on experience

SCHEDULE: 40 hours guaranteed, Monday-Friday w/ 6AM start time.


Apprentice Electrician Qualifications:

  • MUST HAVE VALID DC APPRENTICE LICENSE OR BE ENROLLED IN AN APPRENTICE PROGRAM
  • Must be a DC Resident
  • OSHA 10 preferred but not required
  • Able to read and understand blueprints
  • Have your own basic hand tools and PPE
  • Experience with MC Cable and Romex

Responsibilities:

  • Roughing in MC cable and Romex
  • Read prints to map out exact heights and locations for outlets, switches, and lights.
  • Mounting boxes securely to wall studs and ceiling joists.
  • Use proper anti-short bushings (red heads) and specific MC saddle connectors—never use Romex connectors for metal armor.
  • Cut and trim the metal armor carefully with a rotosplitter or cutters to avoid damaging inner wires.
  • Fasten MC cable securely to building structures using approved straps or staples at required code intervals
