Financial Analyst - Capital MarketsJob Description Summary
The Capital Markets Financial Analyst will serve as dedicated support to a leading Washington DC-based broker team within Cushman & Wakefieldās Capital Markets Equity Debt & Structured Finance (EDSF) group. The team represents owners of all major property types with an emphasis on the Washington DC market, the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern U.S., and across the country.The Financial Analyst will support all phases of the financing process, including preparing detailed financial analysis and valuations, assisting in preparing proposals for new business opportunities, creating marketing materials and debt models for new assignments and summarizing and distributing feedback of the brokerās marketing efforts to clients and lenders.
This role will be based in Washington DC, and the candidate must be available to work on-site in the Cushman & Wakefield office located at 2101 L Street NW. Team members may be expected to travel and work outside normal operating hours to meet project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have the desire to grow in the commercial real estate industry, have a strong background in financial analysis, excellent writing skills, be self-motivated with superb time management skills to prioritize deadlines, and have a strong work ethic.
Job Description
Essential DutiesĀ
Prepare debt and/or equity offering memorandaĀ that conveys all particulars of a transaction in a professionallyĀ written format presented to clients and lendersĀ (financial projections, market and location issues, tenantĀ analysisĀ and persuasively written summaries/highlights).Ā Ā
Manage the graphic design process of debt and equity memoranda in conjunction with a graphic designer, includingĀ creating tables, graphs and charts, and writingĀ technical summariesĀ of all particulars of a transaction.Ā Ā Ā Ā
Prepare debtĀ sizingsĀ toĀ determineĀ possible financingĀ options for each deal.Ā
Prepare financial models in Excel and Argus for clients which outline valuation and pricing structuresĀ
AssistĀ in collecting and evaluating required due diligence for transactions, including makingĀ necessary inquiries to clients to ensure that required information is providedĀ in aĀ timelyĀ manner.Ā
Prepare pro forma statements and projections which accurately reflectĀ historical cash flow performanceĀ of properties, as well as current and projected future market conditionsĀ
Research, analyze, and evaluate market feasibility for various real estate transactionsĀ in a way thatĀ supportsĀ theĀ request for financing of a given asset.Ā
Understand and review real estate documents (leases, operating statements, rent rolls, loan documents, appraisals, etc.) toĀ determineĀ if any issuesĀ orĀ inconsistencies existĀ
Generate weeklyĀ writtenĀ reports and updates to senior brokers onĀ each transactionās marketingĀ program status.Ā Ā
Collect lenderĀ andĀ investor bids andĀ summarize them in detailedĀ quoteĀ matrices.Ā Ā Ā
Prepare and manage lists of potential lenders, investors, and contactsĀ for use in marketing efforts.Ā Ā Ā
Contact and respond to lender requestsĀ andĀ questions.Ā Ā
AssistĀ the brokers in closing transactions including followingĀ checklistsĀ while interacting with lenders and clients toĀ facilitateĀ an efficient closing.Ā Ā

Other Requirements & Administrative DutiesĀ
Bachelorās Degree (Business, Finance,Ā Accounting,Ā Real Estate, etc.) preferred, with a masterās degree orĀ MBAĀ a plus.Ā Ā āÆāÆĀ
1Ā toĀ 2Ā years ofĀ commercialĀ real estate financial analysis and/or financeĀ experienceĀ preferably with a commercial real estate firm engaged in consulting, appraisal, investing, lending, or brokerage. Capital Markets experience a plus.Ā Ā
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyāÆĀ
Ability toĀ build,Ā analyze, and summarizeĀ complex financial models in Excel and ArgusĀ
Strong written communication skills developing high-level analysis summariesĀ Ā
Passion for client delivery, with strong emphasis on producing high-quality work, meeting deadlines, andāÆstrong personal initiative to succeed in an entrepreneurial environmentĀ

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidateās experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
