Summary:
The Class A CDL Flowboy Driver is a truck driver who operates a specialized truck designed to transport and precisely control the flow of asphalt materials to paving sites.Ā 


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ā  Ā Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck,
• Ā  Ā Properly track and document activity log,
• Ā  Ā Report any issues or incidents to dispatch,
• Ā  Ā Inspect truck before and after trip,
• Ā  Ā Clean out bed of the truck at the end of the shift to prevent build up from piling up,
• Ā  Ā Provide hands-on support for crew as needed,
• Ā  Ā Daily pre-shift vehicle and equipment inspections; maintain daily log,
• Ā  Ā Inspect, clean and perform minor repairs to equipment using hand tools and or report malfunctions to supervisors,
• Ā  Ā Work in areas of uneven terrain,Ā 
• Ā  Ā Assist in the training of new or less skilled drivers,
• Ā  Ā Ability to perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to, dumping, snow plowing and salt roadways,Ā 
• Ā  Ā Must wear proper attire at all times including all PPE,
• Ā  Ā Required to work extended hours including nights and weekends,Ā 
• Ā  Ā Additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

• Ā  Ā Must have a valid Class A CDL,
• Ā  Ā Applicants must be able to operate Manual Transmission vehicles,Ā 
• Ā  Ā Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating a tractor-trailer,
• Ā  Ā High School Diploma or GED required,
• Ā  Ā Must be able to tie down equipment, secure cargo to prevent shifting or falling,
• Ā  Ā Must have a relatively clean driving record,
• Ā  Ā Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.


Working Conditions:Ā 

• Ā  Ā Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday,
• Ā  Ā Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday,
• Ā  Ā This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces,
• Ā  Ā This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and the constant use of hands and arms,
• Ā  Ā This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (e.g., glasses, contact lenses),
• Ā  Ā Performing strenuous work for extended periods in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, and other inclement weather conditions,
• Ā  Ā Work may be performed in environments with exposure to extremely hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and Ā moving equipment.
