Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager, Retail & Operations plays a critical role in supporting Tuckernuck’s retail expansion by leading recruiting efforts and managing employee relations across all store locations. This role partners closely with the Director of HR, the Director of Retail and store leadership to build high-performing teams, ensure a best-in-class employee experience, and support the operational success of each store.


This individual will own full-cycle recruiting for retail roles, support onboarding and training, and serve as a key HR partner to retail employees and managers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and brings a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to both hiring and employee relations.


Core Responsibilities 

Retail Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for all retail roles, including Assistant Managers, Stylists, and Operations team members
  • Partner closely with the Director of Retail on hiring needs, workforce planning, and store opening timelines
  • Manage job postings, candidate pipelines, interview coordination, and offer process
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for current and future store locations
  • Ensure a seamless and elevated candidate experience aligned with the Tuckernuck brand
  • Support store opening hiring plans, ensuring roles are filled on time and aligned with business needs

Onboarding & Store Launch Support

  • Oversee onboarding logistics for all retail hires, ensuring a smooth and organized new hire experience
  • Partner with store leadership to coordinate onboarding schedules, training, and first-week experience
  • Support new store openings with onsite or remote hiring and onboarding coordination as needed

Employee Relations & HR Partnership

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for retail employees and store leadership across all locations
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution
  • Partner with managers on disciplinary actions, documentation, and terminations as needed
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and best practices across all stores
  • Foster a positive and engaging employee experience aligned with Tuckernuck’s culture and values

Retail HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR data integrity for retail employees
  • Partner with HR and Payroll on onboarding documentation, status changes, and offboarding processes
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations, particularly across multiple states
  • Support reporting and analysis related to retail hiring, turnover, and workforce trends

Culture & Engagement

  • Partner with HR and Retail leadership to support employee engagement initiatives within stores
  • Help bring Tuckernuck’s culture to life across all retail locations through thoughtful programming and communication
  • Support initiatives that drive retention, team development, and a strong sense of community across stores


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a strong focus on recruiting and/or retail HR
  • Experience supporting multi-location or retail teams preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • Strong recruiting and talent assessment skills, with ability to identify top retail talent
  • Experience managing employee relations issues with sound judgment and discretion
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple openings and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships across all levels
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information 


Compensation 

Compensation for the role will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. The estimated annual compensation for this role is $80,000-$95,000; classified as full-time exempt and not eligible for overtime.
