MacMore is seeking to fill an Industrial Hygienist position for a pending contract award with the United States Secret Service Safety, Health & Environmental Programs Division.

Location:
Washington, DC or Laurel, MD
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • The Industrial Hygienist shall manage the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Program to ensure compliance with safety and IH standards and regulations.
  • The IH will be expected to provide consultation services to managers, technical personnel, other government entities and contractors on Occupational Health and IH, shall be knowledgeable of all related standards, rules, regulations and guidelines and be able to prepare analysis reports, budget and procurement justifications, and recommendations to senior management.
  • The IH shall manage all aspects of the program to include developing, implementing and managing the sections outlined below to include the highlighted deliverables.
  • Review and analyze risks associated with air quality issues at all locations.
  • Investigate and analyze specific situations as dictated by employee concerns or landlord testing.
  • Maintain a documented Hearing Conservation Program (with Medical) to manage risks from exposure to high noise levels.
  • Review and analyze risks associated with industrial ventilation systems at or associated with ranges, lab hoods, paint booths, biosafety cabinets, weapons maintenance areas, etc.
  • Maintain a documented Respiratory Protection Program to manage risks associated with harmful respiratory exposures.
  • Maintain a program designed to manage risks from heat and cold stress to include monitoring, training, acclimation and rest breaks.
  • Monitor temperature and humidity levels.
  • Maintain a Radiation Safety Program to manage risks associated with non-ionizing (RF emitters in drones, laser applications in labs/virtual training) and ionizing (x-ray equipment) radiation.

Qualifications:
  •  Bachelor’s degree; possesses a minimum of 8 years’ experience working in occupational safety and environmental fields.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. General document processing and management.
  • Ability to research, collect, develop and consolidate data for use in the preparation of reports.
  • Knowledge of standard processing procedures, formats, and distribution for correspondence, presentations and reports produced.
