The National Association of Home Builders’ Summer Internship Program offers a structured, hands-on experience designed to provide meaningful exposure to the housing industry and the policy environment that shapes it. Located in the National Housing Center and based in Washington, D.C., the summer program places interns alongside experienced professionals, where they contribute to real-time initiatives, develop practical skills, and gain insight into the work of a national trade association.

As part of the Information Technology team, the Information Technology Intern will support NAHB’s MemberPay initiative and digital archival efforts by helping reconcile membership data between NAHB and local associations and by reviewing archived digital assets to ensure they are organized for accurate and efficient retrieval. This role provides direct exposure to data integrity, information management, digital asset organization, and cross-departmental collaboration and is ideal for a student interested in information technology, data management, digital archives, information science, or a related field.

What You’ll Do

  • Reconcile membership data between NAHB and local associations to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and opportunities to improve data accuracy
  • Review archived digital objects to confirm assets are tagged with the appropriate metadata and taxonomy for efficient search and retrieval
  • Assist in maintaining and strengthening NAHB’s digital archival structure to support broader access to historical resources
  • Organize, validate, and update information across systems and records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Document findings, track discrepancies, and support follow-up efforts related to data reconciliation and archival organization
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support project needs tied to MemberPay and digital records management
  • Provide administrative and project support to help advance key Information Technology initiatives
