Janitor, 3rd Shift

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production/maintenance team.

New employees can potentially earn $65K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week.  This includes the base rate, overtime and production bonuses.  Previous janitorial experience preferred.

Provide excellent customer service by maintaining the cleanliness of the site.

• Clean up scrap metal and other materials from around the production lines; collect and properly dispose of other waste materials resulting from steel fabrication process.
• Assist with maintaining a clean warehouse and shipping yard, including sweeping and trash removal.
• Occasionally use overhead crane to move materials on production floor.
• Perform all job duties to meet all quality standards and in a safe manner according to CSC's safety program.
• Forklift experience a plus
• Perform other custodial duties as required by supervisor.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months experience working in a heavy manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
• Provide outstanding customer service to internal customers and uphold CSC's values

Physical Requirements

• Perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from continuous standing, walking, sitting, climbing -- to crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, and stooping.
• Use hands/arms to grasp, hold, push/pull material of various weights and lengths.
• Lift/carry light to heavy objects up to 60lbs.
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Work Environment

• Open shop environment -- may be exposed to cold and hot work spaces, including working in inclement weather such as rain.
• May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

PPEs Required

The following Personal Protective Equipment will be required to be worn at all times:

• Hard hat
• Steel-toed boots with Metatarsal guards
• Safety glasses
• Ear plugs
