The ideal candidate must be able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a technical team and possess current DevOps/DevSecOps experience with AWS, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, security automation, and scripting. Required qualifications include 3+ years of DevOps/DevSecOps engineering experience; hands-on AWS and infrastructure-as-code (CDK/CloudFormation); experience with CI/CD tooling and security automation; and scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar). The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen; dual citizenship is not permitted, and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance. Must be willing to work a HYBRID schedule (2 days) in Reston, VA and client locations in the Washington, D.C. area as required.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native tooling, such as CodePipeline and CodeBuild.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code with AWS CDK/CloudFormation.
- Integrate security scanning (SAST/DAST/SCA) and policy-as-code into pipelines.
- Automate compliance evidence for FedRAMP/NIST controls.
- Support environment provisioning and deployment automation (blue/green, canary).
- Embed AI-assisted tooling for scanning, testing, and pipeline authoring.
- Monitor pipeline health and improve delivery metrics.
- Collaborate with the team on design and refinement.
- Identify technical issues and communicate risks or blockers early.
- Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and other stakeholders to meet project goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Education or professional experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of DevOps/DevSecOps engineering experience.
- Hands-on AWS and infrastructure-as-code (CDK/CloudFormation).
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and security automation.
- Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Consistent on-time attendance and reliability.
- Must be adaptable/flexible as priorities change.
- Must be enthusiastic and have passion for learning and constant improvement.
- Availability during normal business hours and as needed after hours or weekends.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
 Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certification (DevOps or Security)
- FedRAMP/NIST experience
- Familiarity with AI-assisted DevSecOps tooling
