OverviewÂ
We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to support federal government trade, analytics, and mission transformation priorities by assisting with data mining, data preparation, reporting, documentation, and analysis across complex data environments. This role will support data scientists, data analysts, and other technical team members in transforming raw data into accurate, clear, and actionable insights for government stakeholders.Â
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in data analysis, data preparation, reporting, and documentation, along with the ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary data science team. This role is well suited for an early-career analyst who is detail-oriented, mission-focused, and interested in supporting advanced analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making in a federal environment.Â
LocationÂ
This role will primarily support work in the Washington, DC Metro area, with work expected at or near the client site in Ashburn, VA as required by the contract. Telework may be permitted only with prior government approval.Â
Security RequirementÂ
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a recent DHS Public Trust, DoD Secret, or DoD Top Secret clearance, and must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP background investigation or other required government suitability determination.Â
What You Will DoÂ
Support data mining, data preparation, reporting, and documentation activities under the direction of data analysts, senior data scientists, and project leadershipÂ
Conduct analyses, studies, and needs/gaps assessments as directed by data analysts or senior technical team membersÂ
Prepare, clean, transform, validate, and summarize structured and unstructured data from multiple sourcesÂ
Assist with assessing the accuracy, completeness, reasonableness, and usability of data, recommendations, and proposed solutionsÂ
Document and summarize results of data analysis and contribute to the development of recommended solutions to customer problemsÂ
Prepare big data for use in reporting, visualization, data modeling, statistical analysis, machine learning, and business intelligence productsÂ
Implement data models developed by others and support testing, review, and documentation of analytical outputsÂ
Provide database support for customer solutions, including data extraction, data validation, data profiling, and data quality supportÂ
Assist in developing data-driven analyses, reports, dashboards, visualizations, and analytical summaries based on stakeholder requirementsÂ
Support data scientists, data analysts, engineers, architects, and other consultants in the performance of assigned project tasksÂ
Participate in Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, task updates, demonstrations, and issue resolutionÂ
Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for data issues, reporting inconsistencies, and analytical product defectsÂ
Maintain documentation for datasets, analytical methods, data transformations, reports, dashboards, and workflowsÂ
Communicate analysis techniques, findings, and products to technical and non-technical audiences with support from senior team membersÂ
What This Role Requires
U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirementsÂ

Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP background investigation or other required government suitability determinationÂ
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or another closely related scientific or technical disciplineÂ
Two (2) years of relevant experience in applied research, business intelligence, statistics, data science, computer science, operations research, or another closely related quantitative or computational disciplineÂ
Preferred QualificationsÂ
Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or another closely related disciplineÂ
Experience supporting DHS, CBP, or other federal law enforcement, trade, revenue, regulatory, or mission operations environmentsÂ
Experience supporting analytics, reporting, data preparation, or business intelligence projects in a federal or regulated environmentÂ
Experience working with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, including transactional, entity, operational, or case management dataÂ
Experience using SQL, Python, R, Excel, SAS, Databricks, AWS, or similar tools for data preparation, analysis, reporting, or visualizationÂ
Experience with data profiling, data quality assessment, data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and issue documentationÂ
Experience developing or supporting dashboards, reports, data visualizations, or self-service analytics products using Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, or similar platformsÂ
Exposure to machine learning, statistical modeling, anomaly detection, entity resolution, network analysis, cohort analysis, or risk-scoring projectsÂ
Experience writing analytical summaries, technical documentation, user guides, data dictionaries, or standard operating proceduresÂ
Experience working in Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or similar iterative delivery environmentsÂ
Experience working in secure, compliant federal IT or data environmentsÂ

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data findings, analytical concepts, and reporting products to technical and non-technical audiencesÂ

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
