Position Summary

Due to continued growth, VMG is seeking a Layout Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the layout of commercial construction worksites, ensuring all work aligns with project specifications, plumbing codes, and construction drawings. This position is essential to maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and quality in field execution.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with layout of plumbing systems and construction sites according to approved plans and specifications
Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and building plans
Accurately measure and mark layout points for installation
Identify and troubleshoot layout or site-related challenges, providing effective solutions
Collaborate with field teams to ensure precision and efficiency in layout execution
Ensure compliance with all applicable plumbing codes and safety standards

Job Requirements

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in new construction, including layout-related work
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
Excellent measuring skills with a high level of attention to detail
Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in active jobsite environments
Comfortable working on ladders and at heights

Physical Requirements:

Lift up to 10 lbs regularly
Lift up to 50 lbs frequently
Lift over 75 lbs occasionally with assistance
Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the DMV area (100% field-based role)
