My client is a well-established Commercial Real Estate firm located in downtown Washington, D.C. with a need for a Lease Accountant. This is a newly created opportunity due to the growth of the organization and they are seeking a dynamic Lease Accountant to support daily operational accounting needs. The Lease Accountant will report to the Controller, CPA and offers tremendous career growth. Recent grads with a BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business are highly encouraged to apply. The Lease Accountant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Interpret and abstract new leases, amendments, and other lease documents, and input into MRI
- Generate monthly charges and provide tenants with monthly statements
- Manage move notices, draft and track commencement agreements, and times update lease information in MRI
- Prepare Welcome letters, Rent Commencement letters, and other correspondencePrepare recovery pools and year end reconciliation for CAM, taxes and insurance
- Prepare income projections, post rental charges, and provide annual
CAM/RET/Insurance estimates
- Monitor Gross Sales and prepare percentage rent billings
- Monitor critical lease dates such as Letters of Credits, security reductions, Term Dates, Notice Dates, Lease options, and exercise dates
- Timely & accurately provide lease information to various departments, as needed.
- Work closely with leasing/legal and resolve tenant /landlord lease interpretation disputes
- Monitor payments and post cash applications to tenant accounts
- Rent collection, tenant correspondence, and communication with tenant as necessary
