Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Notification Coordinator is responsible for providing operational communications, advisories, and notifications for the customer IT enterprise environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • You will develop and communicate all notifications, advisories, SOPs, directives, and guidelines for both customers and users. Notifications shall address scheduled and unscheduled outages, release management, and software or hardware deployments.
  • You will also create and distribute operational notices to inform customers and management of all critical incidents.
  • You will be part of the team preparing and managing the customer’s Notification Plan.
  • You will maintain the notification repository and regularly update distribution lists. The Notification Coordinator manages all notification delivery methods, including the service portal, public-facing banners, blogs, ACD, distribution lists, and email.
  • You will also contribute to periodic updates to incorporate any adjustments to notification procedures resulting from new information or emerging incidents.
  • In this role, you will propose and implement automation solutions to improve notification delivery. Automated notification systems shall be integrated with modern collaboration tools to provide real-time updates on Priority 1 and 2 incidents, planned outages, and service advisories. Currently utilized capabilities are: ServiceNow, O365, NewBridge- RingCentral.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The following are the education and experience required for this position:

  • 3+ years
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Secret Security Clearance 

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comp TIA Sec+, ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:   

  • Sitting for long periods
  • Standing for long periods
  • Ambulate throughout an office
  • Ambulate between several buildings
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
  • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 pounds
  • Travel by land or air transportation 25 % .
