Painter (Property Management)

Location: Washington, DC

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Painter is responsible for preparing and applying paint, coatings, and finishes to residential and/or commercial properties managed by the company. This role ensures units, common areas, and exterior surfaces are maintained to high aesthetic and quality standards, contributing to resident satisfaction and property value.

Key Responsibilities

路 Prepare surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming

路 Apply paint and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment

路 Perform drywall and plaster repair and minor carpentry related to surface preparation

路 Match paint colors and finishes to existing surfaces or company specifications

路 Maintain clean and safe work areas in occupied and vacant units

路 Protect furniture, fixtures, and flooring during painting projects

路 Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met

路 Coordinate with property managers and maintenance teams to schedule work with minimal disruption to residents

路 Maintain inventory of painting supplies and notify management of material needs

路 Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company policies

Qualifications

路 3+ years of professional painting experience (residential or commercial preferred)

路 Experience in apartment turnover work is a plus

路 Knowledge of drywall repair and finishing and surface preparation techniques

路 Ability to operate painting tools and equipment safely

路 Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

路 Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

路 Good communication skills and professionalism when interacting with residents

Physical Requirements

路 Ability to stand, climb ladders, and work on feet for extended periods

路 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

路 Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
