About the Role:

We are adding a Project Engineer to support the day-to-day execution of complex water and wastewater facility construction projects by working closely with project managers and field teams. This role is responsible for coordinating project activities, reviewing plans and submittals, tracking costs and materials, and helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with project requirements. This position will be onsite working with our client DC Water at their premier facility, the Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction or a related field preferred 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment plant construction
  • Exposure to self-perform construction work
  • Familiarity with project scheduling, submittals, and RFIs
  • Experience working with subcontractors and vendors


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with estimating efforts including collecting bids and supporting change order pricing 
  • Support preconstruction activities and purchasing efforts
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements 
  • Perform quality control checks on materials and documentation 
  • Coordinate with superintendents and field crews to support daily operations 
  • Track deliveries, materials, and equipment on site 
  • Assist with project scheduling and updating progress 
  • Prepare and track RFIs and project documentation 
  • Review invoices and assist with budget and cost tracking 
  • Support subcontractor coordination and performance tracking 
  • Maintain project records and assist with reporting 
  • Help prepare work plans and support major field activities
