Job DetailsJob Location: Washington, DC 20011Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 HourlyReceptionist Job description Job summary: The Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors at DC Bilingual Public Charter School. This role is essential in maintaining a welcoming, respectful, and professional front office environment that reflects the school’s values of diversity, inclusion, and academic achievement. The Receptionist manages day-to-day front desk operations, facilitates communication between the school and its community, and supports a school-wide culture of respect. The position requires strong customer service skills, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm, organized, and compassionate in a fast-paced educational setting. Responsibilities: Provide assistance with lunch/recess duties as needed. Conduct health check-ups in the absence of the nurse. Monitor the Info email account daily. Assist recess and dismissal duties from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM (late pick-up). Fulfill receptionist duties to the highest level, exhibiting a pleasant and approachable demeanor and promoting cheerfulness, including routing incoming phone calls and greeting visitors. Provide thorough and efficient service to students, staff, families, and guests of DC Bilingual through daily interactions and routine tasks. Perform administrative and data entry duties; such as record and report student attendance and assist with student registration. Ensure office supplies are kept in stock. Minimal nursing responsibilities, tending to basic medical needs. Manage common spaces to maintain appearance and functionality, and use. Deploy facilities team to support staff operations needs. Ensure staff members understand the procedures and have the resources to operate effectively. Mandated reporter of any suspicion of child abuse or neglect QualificationsRequirement: Experience: 1 to 3 years in administrative support, customer service, or a school environment. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in administration or related fields is a plus. Skills & Abilities: Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written communication). Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with technology, including office software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office) and database management. Schedule & Attendance: M-F, 8am-4pm. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
