Security Officer

The Jefferson in Washington, D.C., is currently recruiting a Security Officer to join our highly acclaimed and award-winning team.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledgeable of all security equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations
• Assist guests with room access, conducting/ assisting with emergency response drills, daily physical hazard/safety inspections, investigations, and key control audit
• Monitor hotel surveillance cameras and alarm systems
• Assist guests and employees during emergency situations
• Respond to all accidents, contacting EMS or administering Aid/CPR as required
• Gather information to complete reports while maintaining confidentiality
• Defuse disturbances in accordance with hotel policies and procedures
• Provide additional assistance in areas outside of traditional security positions to include Front Office Operations and Engineering 

Qualifications:

• Previous relevant Security experience, preferably in a luxury hotel
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with guests, visitors, and hotel staff
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to obtain a certification in CPR and First Aid Training
• The position requires the ability to walk stairs, climb ladders, and conduct security patrols. The ability to lift, bend, push and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs
• Strong guest service experience is necessary
