Job Summary
Work with the Director, Engine Oil and DEF Certification Programs, to promote and grow API’s Engine Oil Licensing and Certification System (EOLCS) and Diesel Exhaust Fluid Certification Program (DEF).
Duties/Responsibilities
- Membership in and representing DEF at ASTM D15 Coolants and Related Fluids.
- Membership in and representing DEF at ISO TC 22/ SC 34 USTAG.
- Educating licensees and consumers about DEF through presentations at seminars, meetings, and industry-related events.Â
- Representing DEF at trade shows and industry events.
- Working with API Marketing and Communications to advance API Certified DEF program.
- Managing the DEF Program Advisory Board and related task groups. Duties include, but are not limited to:Â
- Working with the committee on policy issues faced by the DEF industry.
- Managing the Additized DEF Task Force and developing an API Additized DEF standard.
- Ensuring that the committee and any task groups receive proper support from API staff.
- Acting as liaison between the DEF Program Advisory Board and other industry groups.
- Developing meeting announcements and agendas.
- Preparing and distributing minutes.
- Assembling data and other information requested by committee members and others.
- Issuing ballots and technical bulletins.
- Overseeing logistical arrangements for committee meetings.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Educating licensees and consumers about DEF through presentations at seminars, meetings, and industry-related events.
- Managing the DEF Program Advisory Board and related task groups.
- Managing a global expansion of DEF outside of the western hemisphere.
 Key Relationships
- Work with professional/engineering consultants on specific DEF Program Advisory Board issues and the API DEF Aftermarket Audit Program team.Â
 Qualifications
- Requires  7-10 years of experience in a similar role and subject matter expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area, or other related field equivalent work experience.Â
- Experience in API’s product certification and quality assurance systems and committee structure preferred.Â
- Proven ability to work in a goal-oriented, team environment.Â
- Familiarity with database technology and MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.Â
 Physical Requirements
- Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer
- Move about the office to access office machinery, meeting rooms, etc. on occasion
- Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines
- Transport items and equipment up to 10 lbs. on occasion
