The successful candidate will serve as the sole Quality assurance resource in this environment, requiring them to wear multiple hats across the software lifecycle—from understanding the underlying product infrastructure and release versioning to certifying the final product. A passion for ensuring the uptime and reliability of large-scale, mission-critical software is paramount.

What you’ll be doing

  • Analyze/refine requirements with Development and Engineering Leads, focusing on test planning and scope to certify releases.
  • Participate effectively in a scrum team environment.
  • Manage deliverables working under minimal supervision.
  • Partner with Development and Release Teams to build and execute on product infrastructure growth and high availability.
  • Understand Okta’s top customers usage patterns to define critical test coverage.
  • Review new changes going into test and staging environments.
  • Ensure new changes are compatible with existing customer deployments and usage.
  • Develop, maintain, and debug end-to-end/system test plans and existing test automation to certify the quality of weekly releases.
  • Set up and maintain all necessary test configurations and lab environments for end-to-end/system testing.
  • Prioritize and ensure that critical customer usage patterns continue to function for every weekly release in our test and staging environments.
  • Support the overall QA efforts of our software deployment and release teams, acting as a technical authority on quality in the restricted environment

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Must possess active High clearance.
  • 4+ years of experience in software QA with a focus on release-based testing and validation.
  • 4+ years of experience working in a SaaS-based environment.
  • Experience working on both server and client side of device technology.
  • Proven ability to understand, debug, and maintain existing automation code (e.g., Java-based) to diagnose failures; heavy programming/development experience is not strictly required.
  • 4+ years of experience in at least three of the following cross-disciplinary skills ("Multiple Hats"):
  • 4 years of experience with developing and executing end-to-end or system test plans.
  • 4 years of experience setting up and maintaining test configurations and lab environments

Additional requirements:

  • U.S. soil status - the employee must be on U.S. soil, which means the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or outlying areas of the United States, as defined in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 2.101
