Senior Systems Manager – eDiscovery / Litigation Support

Location: 150 M Street NE, Washington, DC
Position Type: Full-time, exempt
Employment Structure: Initial six-month temporary assignment with anticipated conversion to a permanent role
Annual Salary: $135,450 - $142,480

About the Role

JLGOV is seeking a Senior Systems Manager to support the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.

This is a technical eDiscovery and litigation-support management role, not a paralegal, legal assistant, or document-review position. The selected candidate will lead RelativityOne operations, complex legal productions, technical staff, user support, PowerShell automation, systems security, storage, and disaster recovery.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • At least six years of first-line management experience
  • Significant eDiscovery or litigation-support experience
  • Strong knowledge of EDRM and the litigation discovery process
  • Hands-on RelativityOne experience
  • Experience managing complex legal productions
  • Experience supervising technical or litigation-support staff
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with Windows systems, browser-based applications, help desk operations, documentation, and training
  • Undergraduate degree
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOJ Public Trust
  • Availability to work full time onsite in Washington, DC



Candidates without direct eDiscovery, RelativityOne, management, PowerShell, citizenship, and onsite availability will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage RelativityOne workspaces, processing, review, analytics, productions, and ARM activities
  • Oversee load-ready, searchable PDF, native-file, metadata, and other complex productions
  • Troubleshoot Relativity Review and Active Learning projects
  • Provide technical guidance on ESI specifications
  • Support attorneys, case managers, Government personnel, and legal proceedings
  • Supervise data processors, systems analysts, DBAs, help-desk staff, and other technical personnel
  • Manage documentation, training, user support, servers, storage, security, risk, and disaster recovery
  • Create and review complex PowerShell scripts
  • Produce operational and production reports
  • Support extended hours when required by trials, productions, or court deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relativity or eDiscovery certification
  • Experience with Relativity aIR
  • Experience with CaseMap, TextMap, or Microsoft Access
  • Trial-support experience
  • Graduate degree in a technical discipline
  • Prior DOJ, federal legal, or law-enforcement support experience



Compensation and Conversion

The annual salary during the initial six-month assignment is $135,450. Employer-sponsored medical and healthcare benefits are not provided during this period.



The role is structured as a temporary-to-permanent opportunity. Conversion is anticipated after approximately six months but depends on performance, customer approval, security requirements, business need, and the receiving hiring process. Permanent compensation and benefits will be determined at the six-month transition.
