Description
The Training & Content Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining training materials and digital learning content for the USDA National Organic Program. This role supports the Organic Integrity Learning Center (OILC) by creating engaging, accessible, and compliant training modules and educational resources.
Key Responsibilities
Training Development
- Design and develop online training modules for OILCÂ
- Create:Â
- Instructional contentÂ
- Lesson materialsÂ
- Quizzes and assessmentsÂ
- Ensure all training aligns with program objectives and regulatory requirementsÂ
Content Creation & Maintenance
- Update and maintain existing training modulesÂ
- Develop written and visual content including:Â
- GraphicsÂ
- VideosÂ
- Instructional textÂ
- Ensure consistency with USDA branding and messagingÂ
Technical Development
- Develop and edit content using:Â
- HTML and CSSÂ
- Learning Management Systems (LMS)Â
- Troubleshoot and maintain training module functionalityÂ
Accessibility & Compliance
- Ensure all materials meet Section 508 accessibility requirementsÂ
- Apply federal style and usability standardsÂ
- Support testing and validation of training contentÂ
Collaboration & Support
- Work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather requirementsÂ
- Support rollout of training and educational initiativesÂ
- Assist in development of supporting materials such as FAQs and job aidsÂ
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Education, or related fieldÂ
- 3–6 years of experience in:Â
- Training developmentÂ
- eLearning content creationÂ
- Experience with:Â
- LMS platformsÂ
- HTML/CSSÂ
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (Section 508)
