Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $18.00 Hourly

Lincoln Theatre is seeking friendly and professional Ushers to serve as the primary point of contact for patrons once they enter the theatre. They act as hosts – providing direction to seats, answering questions, and facilitating conflict resolution. They work in conjunction with security staff and report to the house manager.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet patrons as they enter the venue; make them feel welcome
  • Direct patrons to seats for reserved seating shows
  • Assist patrons in finding seats during general admission shows
  • Assist patrons in need of accessible seating
  • Answer or find the answer to any patron questions
  • Act as eyes and ears – report any concerns to security or management
  • Enforce house policies, such as photography restrictions
  • Clean the theatre after performances
  • Perform some security functions as needed, such as controlling access to VIP seating areas

  • Confidence in interacting with the general public on a regular basis
  • Interpersonal problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to listen attentively – both to instructions and to patrons’ needs
  • Ability to remain focused during stretches of down time
