Position Overview

The Vice President, Director of Strategy is a senior executive leadership role responsible for developing and executing the organization's strategic vision, driving long-term growth initiatives, and ensuring alignment between corporate objectives and operational execution. This position serves as a key advisor to the C-suite and Board of Directors on strategic matters affecting the organization's competitive position and future direction.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Development

• Lead the development and execution of the organization's 3-5 year strategic plan
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis, competitive intelligence, and industry trend assessment
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, market expansion possibilities, and strategic partnerships
• Develop strategic frameworks and methodologies to guide decision-making across the organization
• Present strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors

Business Analysis & Insights

• Oversee strategic research initiatives and data analytics to inform business decisions
• Analyze organizational performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
• Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture opportunities
• Assess market dynamics, customer needs, and emerging technologies that may impact the business
• Develop business cases and financial models for strategic initiatives

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate with C-suite executives to ensure strategic alignment across all business units
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and other departments to implement strategic initiatives
• Lead cross-functional strategy teams and working groups
• Facilitate strategic planning sessions and workshops with senior leadership
• Drive organizational change management related to strategic initiatives

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors Degree
• Executive education in strategy or leadership is a plus

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in strategy, management consulting, or related fields
• At least 7-10 years in senior leadership roles with strategic responsibility
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful corporate strategies
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or significant organizational transformations preferred
• Industry-specific experience relevant to the organization's sector
