Position OverviewĀ
The Human Resources Associate playsĀ a central roleĀ in supporting the people and processes that enable Pew Research Centerās mission.Ā As a key member of a collaborative HR team, this positionĀ combines day-to-day operational excellence with meaningful contributions to recruiting, onboarding, and staff engagement.Ā

Human Resources OperationsĀ
Provide essential support across the HR function to ensure smooth,Ā accurate, and responsive service delivery:Ā
Maintain HR records and systems with a high degree of accuracy and confidentialityĀ
Process employment verification requests and administer staff anniversary bonusesĀ
Support reporting, follow-up, and general day-to-day HR operationsĀ
Manage the HR teamās shared project plan in AsanaĀ
Manage the HR teamās meeting scheduleĀ
Manage the HR team budget and reconciliation, including theĀ embedded budgets for the staff Workplace Advisory Council and Voices & Values CouncilĀ
Compile quarterly and annual staff metrics reportsĀ

Recruitment and OnboardingĀ
Contribute directly to the Centerās ability to attract and welcome new talent:Ā
Lead full-cycle recruitment for entry-level and early career roles, including drafting job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and preparing offersĀ
Manage onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with all pre-employment requirements (background checks, references, relocation, etc.)Ā
Manage new hire relocation communication, receiptĀ collectionĀ and reimbursementĀ Ā
Coordinate and deliver new employee orientation, helping to create a positive and engaging introduction to the organizationĀ

Staff Engagement and CommunicationĀ
Help foster an informed and connected workplace:Ā
Manage HR-related content on the staff intranet (The Lede) and support internal communications such as the weekly staff updateĀ
AssistĀ in planning and executing HR-sponsored events and initiativesĀ
Support the annual staff survey process, including vendor coordination, data preparation, and reportingĀ
Manage theĀ new hire andĀ exit interviewĀ processesĀ and contribute to regular reporting of insights and trendsĀ
Ensure adherence to organizational policies and proceduresĀ
Perform other duties as assignedĀ

QUALIFICATIONS:Ā Ā
Bachelorās degree or equivalent work experience; college courses in business, non-profit administration,Ā and/or Human Resources preferredĀ
3-5Ā years of experience in an office environment, preferably in a support role in administration or Human ResourcesĀ
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsĀ
Capability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and external audiencesĀ verbally and in writingĀ
Ability to deal with a range of styles and behaviors in a tactful, pleasant, and personal mannerĀ
Professional demeanor and conduct in all interactions, both internally and externallyĀ
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlinesĀ
Strong administrative skills and basic software competencies in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPointĀ

Hybrid Work Schedule: Pew Research Center staffĀ are required toĀ be present in the Center's Washington, D.C., office three core days weekly (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Staff may workĀ virtually fromĀ remote locations on other days in a typical work week.Ā
