Position Summary

The Legal Recruiting Coordinator will support the Manager, Legal Recruiting and Professional Development with all aspects of the Summer Associate Program, on-campus recruiting efforts, and lateral associate and counsel hiring. The Coordinator will also serve as a key point of contact for candidates, ensuring a seamless, high-quality recruiting experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in managing the summer associate program including tracking, calendaring and monitoring summer events; preparing orientation schedule; work with summer coordinators re summer assignments, prepare summer associate mid and end of summer reviews; prepare and summarize summer survey

  • Liaise with law schools on aspects of student recruitment, including registration for on-campus interviews and job fairs

  • Coordinate and attend recruitment events including 1L and 2L law school panels, receptions and sponsorships

  • Coordinate all aspects of the law student and associate interview process, including scheduling interviews, managing calendar logistics, working with search firms  and tracking candidate progress and school-specific offer data.

  • Assist and provide support for local hiring initiatives and communication initiatives, including preparation of DC specific recruiting materials

  • Respond to inquiries, correspondence, and follow-up with candidates, summer associates, attorneys, and external contacts.

  • Greet applicants upon arrival, provide office tours, and escort candidates to interviews as needed.

  • Update and maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information in the recruitment database.

  • Manage and process recruiting expenses and budget

  • Attend NALP- and WALRAA-sponsored programs

  • Provide general administrative support and assist with additional projects as assigned by the Manager, Legal Recruiting and Professional Development.

Qualifications/Position Requirements

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a positive team player with strong professionalism.

  • Punctual, reliable, and flexible, with the ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, candidates, and staff at all levels.

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while maintaining high work quality.

  • Good judgment and professional maturity, including the ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other applications as needed.

  • Experience with viDesktop is a plus.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 2 – 4 years of legal recruiting experience or 3 – 5 years of general recruiting experience at a large organization preferred.

Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 - $85,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
