Job Description:

Summary:

The Production Assistant assists with all aspects of theatre and event production. Areas include lighting, audio, carpentry, painting, and props. This position works directly with full-time theatre staff members in the areas of carpentry, painting, lighting, audio, prop making, costuming, and other crafts. The Production Assistant will also work with full-time staff on rentals. The employee will be trained in all areas of the theatre as necessary. Tasks can include lifting and carrying, hanging and focusing lights, building scenery and props, setting up and striking equipment for various production or rental events. This is a hands-on and very physical position.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with lighting, audio, carpentry, painting, and props.

  • Set up striking equipment.

  • Work with full-time staff on rentals.

  • Other duties assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-time.

  • 15 hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $17.95 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in theatre, community, or school.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Relevant theatre and live event experience is preferred but not necessary.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • This is a hands-on and physical position that requires being on one's feet for every shift, being able to lift 20-25lbs, and also working with groups or teams.
