Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Defense Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team. This role will provide expert guidance to our team of procurement specialists. The role will focus on ensuring compliance with DoD regulations, supporting proposal activities, and acting as a key liaison across departments. This position requires deep expertise in DoD supply chain processes, ideal for a professional with 7-10+ years of relevant experience in defense procurement and compliance
 

Support U.S. DoD and Global Defense supply chain proposal activities, including developing and reviewing procurement strategies for bids and contracts.

  • Ensure compliance with DoD and Global Defense regulations, including preparing for Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSR) and building compliant Purchase Order (PO) packages.
  • Advise and mentor the procurement team on best practices for defense-related sourcing, subcontracting, and risk management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between procurement and cross-functional teams, including legal, program office, engineering, and proposal teams, to align on requirements and resolve issues.
  • Manage supply chain subcontracting processes, including negotiating Terms and Conditions (T’s & C’s) and Statements of Work (SOW’s).
  • Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks in defense projects, ensuring adherence to federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and defense federal acquisition regulation supplement (DFARS).
  • Contribute to process improvements, training programs, and documentation to build DoD expertise within the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices in aerospace and defense procurement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPCM, or DAWIA Level II/III) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience, Experience writing contracts and leading negotiations. Experience with U.S. DoD. Experience with FAR and DFARS documents

Preferred Skills

  • Experience as a prime or subcontractor in DoD projects.
  • Background in global defense supply chains beyond the U.S.
  • Analytical mindset with a track record of process optimization.
  • You have knowledge / experience as a Supply Chain representative supporting Global Defense / DoD proposals.
  • You are familiar with the U.S. DoD acquisition process, including RFP structures, flow-downs, and compliance standards.
  • You have knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and international defense contracting practices.
  • You are familiar with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • You have experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry or a government contracting environment.
  • You have knowledge of ITAR/EAR regulations, Cybersecurity compliance (CMMC), and supply chain security principles.
  • You have an understanding of cost estimating, supplier negotiations, and BOE development in a defense context.
  • You have experience with proposal pricing tools (e.g., ProPricer) and reporting dashboards (e.g., Power BI)
