JOB SUMMARY
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 275 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
The CSIS Executive Education Program seeks a highly motivated candidate for a full-time, six-month, paid internship in a dynamic and fast-paced environment beginning in September 2026.Ā
The Executive Education program provides global leaders with training opportunities in leadership, ethics, and foreign policy. ItĀ designs andĀ facilitates specialized training initiatives for executives, visiting government officials, and global leaders. It also offers foreign policyĀ seminars, crisis simulations,Ā andĀ skill-buildingĀ workshopsĀ for CSISāsĀ interns,Ā young professionals,Ā and visiting university student groups.Ā The intern will support the successful administration and execution of the programs andĀ provide assistanceĀ across all program components, such as program development and execution, coordination, outreach, and administrative support.
The hired candidate will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience ($18.40/hour for current undergraduate hires, $19.40/hour for hires with a bachelorās degree, and $20.40/hour for hires with a masterās degree).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:Ā
- ProvideĀ event management supportĀ
- Create content for Executive Educationās social media accountsĀ
- Compile data on CSIS programmingĀ
- AssistĀ with program operations and administrationĀ
- Organize outreach efforts, such as writing newslettersĀ
- Survey market competition and prospective donorsĀ
- Conduct background research on programming, learning and development best practices, and marketing strategiesĀ
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong demonstrated interest inĀ learning and development, education, and/or event managementĀ
- InterestĀ in foreign policyĀ or international relationsĀ
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-taskĀ
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in a professional settingĀ
- Enthusiasm for challenging assignments that demand creativity
- Event management and/or project coordination experience preferred, in any relevant settingĀ
- Lives in or can easily travel to the D.C.Ā area for work at the CSIS office in Washington, D.C.
