Position Overview

Washington Financial Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst I to join our Credit Administration team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career professional looking to build expertise in credit analysis, financial statement review, risk assessment, and loan administration. 

The Credit Analyst I supports lending and credit administration activities by analyzing financial information, evaluating creditworthiness, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other borrower information to assess credit risk and repayment capacity. 
  • Evaluate the short-term and long-term financial outlook of individuals and businesses seeking credit. 
  • Prepare thorough financial analyses, including ratios and supporting documentation. 
  • Support loan review and credit administration functions. 
  • Review loan files to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Conduct quality control reviews of residential and third-party originated loans. 
  • Order and review credit reports, appraisal reviews, and related documentation. 
  • Verify employment, deposits, mortgage information, and other borrower data. 
  • Maintain department files, databases, logs, and documentation exception tracking. 
  • Assist in preparing management reports and summaries. 
  • Collaborate with lending, operations, and other departments to support efficient workflow and information sharing. 
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures. 

 

 

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field required. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements. 
  • Solid mathematical and data analysis skills. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database systems. 
  • Previous credit analysis experience is not required. 
  • Relevant coursework, internships, or financial analysis training are a plus. 
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized. 
  • Comfortable working with financial data and documentation. 
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Committed to accuracy, compliance, and quality. 
  • Eager to learn and grow within the banking and financial services industry.
