All youth experiencing homelessness and youth at risk of being homeless are empowered to be contributing, self-supporting members of their community.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting MY House's mission through strategic communications, fundraising event coordination, donor engagement, and community outreach. This position works closely with the Chief Communications Officer to strengthen MY House's public presence, build meaningful relationships with donors and community partners, and promote awareness of programs and services that support youth experiencing homelessness and instability. The Marketing & Communications Specialist plays a key role in advancing organizational fundraising efforts, maintaining donor communications, and representing MY House throughout the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage MY House fundraising events, including but not limited to the 18 Holes of Hope Golf Tournament, Rotary Uncorked, the MY House Radiothon, and other special events.
  • Maintain and manage the MY House donor database, ensuring accurate donor records, gift tracking, acknowledgments, and reporting.
  • Develop and distribute donor, funder, and community communications through digital platforms, social media, email marketing, newsletters, printed materials, and traditional media.
  • Research and support the preparation and submission of grant proposals, reports, and supporting documentation in collaboration with the Chief Communications Officer.
  • Represent MY House at community events, presentations, networking opportunities, and partner meetings to increase community awareness and engagement.
  • Assist with the recruitment, training, mentoring, and supervision of communications interns and volunteers as assigned.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Communications Officer to implement marketing and communications strategies that strengthen the organization's brand and mission.
  • Create marketing materials, presentations, promotional campaigns, and storytelling content that highlight MY House's impact.
  • Coordinate media inquiries, press releases, and public relations activities as directed.
  • Monitor communications and fundraising metrics and prepare reports to evaluate campaign and event effectiveness.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor, client, and organizational information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the MY House mission.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Associate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a public-facing, customer service, marketing, communications, or sales role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking, networking, and making outreach or sales calls.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in nonprofit marketing, communications, or fundraising.
  • Experience with social media management, email marketing, and content creation.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
  • Experience with CRM or donor management systems.
  • Passion for community engagement and supporting a mission-driven organization.

 

Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
