JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE:  Quality Assurance Specialist
REPORTS TO: Administrative Manager  
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, part-time 
CLASSIFICATION:  Hourly 
LOCATION: 300 North Willow Street Wasilla AK 99654  
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt 

 
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and improving data integrity, documentation quality, and compliance across agency operations. This position supports quality improvement initiatives through chart audits, data tracking, reporting, and process monitoring to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to organizational standards. The role works collaboratively with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams to identify errors, improve workflows, support corrective actions, and promote high-quality service documentation and reporting. This staff will be quality assuring staff notes to meet minimum state standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Responsible for verifying data, documenting any corrections to existing data as needed to ensure accuracy of the information being recorded and stored. 
  • Assist with grant reporting to include providing charts, grids and program content as requested. 
  • Facilitate and monitor client satisfaction surveys as well as focus groups. 
  • Conduct quarterly, biannual and annual review of services, adherence to Continuous Quality Improvement procedures (CQI) and policy and procedures. 
  • Complete weekly crosschecks, spreadsheets and weekly QA reports.  
  • Provide ongoing guidance to program staff on the Electronic Health Record(s) clinical & non-clinical documentation procedures.  
  • Provide clear comprehensive support through face to face interactions with clients through email, telephone contacts and webcasted telecommunication (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc..) 
  • Adheres to confidentiality requirements of 42 CFR, Part 2 and HIPAA regulations. 
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Associates Degree in Human Services or related field or information technology field.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience entering and tracking data or quality assurance. 
  • Experience working in web-bases data systems to include Excel. 
  • Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal background check. 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in such as social work, counseling or psychology or information technology field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. 
  • Minimum of three (2) years’ experience entering and tracking data or quality assuring.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal background check.
