Autism Behavioral Health (ABH) operates centers in Danbury, Trumbull, and Waterbury, with services provided across Connecticut in home and community settings.

We support children and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder through evidence-based care that promotes growth, independence, and quality of life.

Paid RBT training and certification are provided for employees.

Behavior Technician Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 ABA therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the Clinical Manager/BCBA
  • Use ABA techniques such as behavior management, discrete trial training (DTT), and social skills development
  • Collect and record accurate data during each session
  • Follow all clinical guidelines and support the client's progress towards goals
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the Clinical Manager

Behavioral Technician Requirements:

  • Preferred: Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, or related field
  • High school diploma required; RBT certification preferred (paid training available)
  • Must obtain RBT certification before working independently with clients
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations across various settings
  • Able to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations

Additional Requirements:

  • Maintain professionalism and composure in challenging situations (e.g., behaviors such as aggression or tantrums)
  • Implement behavior intervention strategies and follow clinical guidance
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members
  • Follow directions and collaborate with supervisors and clinical staff
  • Engage actively with children using energy, creativity, and a positive approach

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, and move throughout sessions, including working on the floor for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs
  • Reliable transportation required
