Overview

The Benefits Program Administrator will join the Food & Nutrition Team and support many different roles within a very fast-paced environment.  The BPA will support not only the ESD Program Managers and Benefit Program Assistant Administrators, but also the Food & Nutrition Program Director.  This team is responsible for administering the 3SVT program (SNAP), and many other sub-programs.  Collaboration with the USDA's Food & Nutrition Administration, community partners and advocates of VT, and many other state liaisons will be a part of day-to-day work.  A high degree if independence and teamwork is required, managing many different priorities at once and shifting focus depending on business needs.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed largely in a standard office setting. Numerous group meetings are involved at which divergent opinions and program crises require positive action. Certain assignments may have short deadlines and involve work outside of normal duty schedules. Work related travel may be required for which private means of transportation must be available. An incumbent may be required to resolve troublesome employee problems and applicant cases, and be called upon to testify at fair hearing and court cases, or before legislative committees.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND four (4) years or more at a professional level in human services, education, employment and training programs, policy development, data processing, or program management INCLUDING two (2) years or more of managerial or supervisory duties.

OR

Master's degree AND two (2) years or more of managerial or supervisory duties in human services, education, employment and training programs, policy development, data processing, or program management.

OR

Two years of full-time college coursework OR associate's degree AND six (6) years or more at a professional level in human services, education, employment and training programs, policy development, data processing, or program management INCLUDING two (2) years or more of managerial or supervisory duties.

OR

Eight (8) years of more at a professional level in human services, education, employment and training programs, policy development, data processing, or program management INCLUDING two (2) years or more of managerial or supervisory duties.
