Overview

The Vermont Department of Health Business Office is recruiting for a Financial Administrator I to join the budget team. In this role you will develop budgets and expense projections for a portfolio of divisions within the Department, monitor spending against forecasts, analyze expenses and trends, and track special fund revenue and expenses. If you have training and/or experience in accounting, budgeting, economics, or financial analysis and a desire to put your skills to work to promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of people in Vermont, this may be the opportunity for you.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.

OR

Associate's degree in accounting, business/office administration AND two (2) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.

OR

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business/office administration.

OR

One (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Specialist III with the State of Vermont.

NOTE: All levels of required accounting experience, unless otherwise noted, must have been performed to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and standards.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
