Job DetailsJob Location: Waterbury , CT 06704   DEPT:  Early Childhood                              LOCATION:  80 Howard Ave., Waterbury STATUS:  P/T Regular                             GRADE:  N/A UNION:  Yes   TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Health Coordinator   POSITIONS SUPERVISED:  N/A   BASIC PURPOSE:   To oversee the serving of  meals to young children following proper safety and sanitation procedures.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.  Prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks in accordance with menus and acceptable health and nutrition            standards.   2.  Allocate and distribute incoming food to appropriate classrooms.   3.  Provide caterer with a daily breakfast and lunch count and place milk order.   4.  Monitor any children’s allergies and change menus accordingly.   5.  Monitor temperatures for freezer, refrigerator and milk cooler.   6.  Distribute menus to classrooms and children.   7.  Ensure that the storage of food is neat, orderly and safe.   8.  Ensure that all dishes, utensils and equipment are properly washed, sterilized and stored in a neat and      orderly manner after meal completion.   9.  Ensure that all kitchen appliances are safe and properly maintained.   10.  Maintain a monthly inventory of all staple items.   11.  Order janitorial supplies and paper goods as needed following established procedures.   12.  Attend staff and nutritional meetings as required.   13.  Shops for groceries when necessary following established procedures.     NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.  Perform other related duties as required.   WORK ENVIRONMENT: Kitchen environment in preschool setting.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED, Food Handling Certificate   EXPERIENCE:  Food handling a plus.   SPECIAL SKILLS: ServSafe Certification   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances.  Must be able to frequently bend,lift, reach and climb stairs. Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs   PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:  Ability to function within guidelines of Agency’s core values and identification with Agency mission.
