Our client, The Vermont Agency of Education is seeking a highly organized, self-starting Operations & Process Specialist for a temporary assignment of 12 months. This individual will serve as a bridge between their current workflows and new processes and procedures. The primary goal of this role is to audit, document, and standardize the internal departmental functions.

Key Responsibilities

SOP Development: Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to map out complex workflows and translate them into clear, concise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Template Creation: Design and implement standardized document templates, forms, and reporting tools to ensure consistency across the agency.

Project Coordination: Manage timelines for process updates, ensuring all documentation is drafted, reviewed, and approved by stakeholders within strict deadlines.

Administrative Modernization: Audit existing Microsoft Office-based files to improve data organization, accessibility, and version control.

Required Qualifications

Technical Writing: Proven experience in drafting formal SOPs, manuals, or technical guides.

Project Management: Demonstrated ability to track multiple deliverables, identify bottlenecks, and meet milestones with minimal oversight.

Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office 365 (specifically Word, Excel, and SharePoint). Must be capable of using advanced features like Styles, Mail Merge, and complex formulas.

Independent Execution: Ability to work autonomously in a remote or hybrid environment, maintaining high productivity without constant supervision.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to navigate a government environment and build rapport with various department heads.
